OUR STAFF

I was born and raised in Kentucky and still call it home. I met my wife, Amaris in college and we have been married since 2004. We have 4 kids that we’ve been entrusted with: Keyli, Klay, Klover, & Kit. Definitely should have thought more about having all “K” names, but we’re stuck with them now!
Journey to Envoy: I received my BA in Ministry from Cincinnati Christian University in 2004 and helped establish a church in the inner city. We were called out west to Arizona and cut our teeth in ministry at Central Christian Church. We were given incredible opportunities to grow and contribute there for over 12 years. In 2016 we accepted the invitation of our best friends to help start a church in Colorado Springs called Trace Church. After helping get this church plant off the ground, we were asked to step into the leadership position of the church that helped get us established in the Springs. In 2019 I took on the role of Lead Pastor at what is now Envoy Church.
Interests & Interesting facts: I love hiking, fishing and sports of all kinds. I have a competitive side that some would say is a bit unhealthy – I’m working on it! Someday I will have a Rhodesian Ridgeback, but currently surrender my man card for my Malti-Poo named Biscuit.

I was born and raised in Bowling Green, KY, which is about an hour north of Nashville, Tennessee. In 2005 I married my high school sweetheart, Jill, after dating for five years. We welcomed our son, Oliver, in 2010, and have enjoyed watching him grow and try out different sports throughout the years. I am also blessed to get to serve with him in the tech booth on Sunday mornings. We moved to Colorado Springs from Murfreesboro, TN in 2008 to originally pursue graduate work for me. God had other plans! I enjoy traveling, hiking, disc golf, skiing, tubing, giving my wife a hard time, and enjoying the amazing scenery that is Colorado.
We started attending Envoy Church in 2014. I had the opportunity to intern with the church in 2015, and officially came on staff in 2016. I graduated from Middle Tennessee State University with a Bachelor’s degree in Mass Communications with an emphasis in Audio engineering with a minor in Entertainment Technology. I enjoy music and have a passion for recording, sound engineering, and helping others make music. An interesting fact about me is that I am a drummer; however, I own several guitars, which I actually cannot play. My father played guitar and I have several of his guitars from my childhood.

I was born and raised in Bowling Green, Kentucky, home of the Corvette. It is a small town, and everyone pretty much seemed to know everyone. I grew up in the church, thanks to my mother, and gave my life to Jesus when I was 10 years old. I met my husband, Jason, in high school, and after dating for five years and graduating college, we got married in 2005. I moved to Murfreesboro, Tennessee, to complete my graduate degree at Middle Tennessee State University while he finished up his undergraduate degree. We moved to Colorado Springs, Colorado in 2008 and have been here ever since! We love it here! We were blessed with one child, Oliver, who is 12 years old. Oliver enjoys playing baseball, basketball, and is currently trying out wrestling. As a family, we enjoy hiking, watching movies, miniature golf, disc golf, and any other fun things you might find outside here in Colorado!
I have an undergraduate degree in Psychology and a graduate degree in School Psychology. I have been working as a school psychologist in a local school district since we moved here in 2008. I love working with children (and families) and helping them with their academic and mental health needs. I have attended Envoy Church since 2014 and came on staff in 2019. I love worship music and our small group/life group. God blessed us with an amazing group of friends that we get to do life with. An interesting fact about me is that my love language is school supplies, or as my husband lovingly refers to them, “nerd supplies.” Back to school time and fresh, colorful pens make me happy!

I grew up at Envoy church, back when it was called Sunnyside. I grew up mountain biking, camping, and four-wheeling with my and my Dad’s Jeeps. As a high school student I decided I wanted to go into full time ministry as a career, and attended Ozark Christian college from 2010-2014.
Janie grew up in Fairplay, Colorado, spending most of her free time helping her dad at Camp Como. She loves camping, hiking, and anything that has to do with being out in God’s Creation!
Janie and I met at Ozark Christian College in 2013. After nearly two years of trying, Janie finally agreed to a date with me, and we got married in October of 2015. Shortly after, I took my first full time ministry job as a youth pastor in Carl Junction, MO. Janie finished school, and started working as a 6th grade special education teacher in 2016. Our first child, Asa was born in 2019, and our second is on the way!
We decided to move back to Colorado, and I had the privilege of coming back to my home church in July of 2022. I am so blessed to serve at a place that played a huge part in shaping me into who I am today. Janie and I are excited for all of the things happening here, in Colorado Springs, and couldn’t be more excited to be a part of it!

I am originally from Toledo, Ohio. I have moved around quite a bit, but ended up in Colorado in 2005. My husband, Shane, and I got married in 2008. We have two kids, Braedyn & Olivia, and a dog.
Journey to Envoy: I have a Bachelors in Secondary Math Instruction and a Masters in Curriculum and Instruction. I taught high school, college and elementary math classes for twenty years. Shortly after I left teaching I joined this wonderful team and I have been here since 2021. I have been a part of this church since 2016.
Interests and Interesting facts: I love to swim (I swim with my kids on a swim team), bike, play tennis, play games with my family, do killer sudoku puzzles, do crafty things, and spend time with family and friends. Interesting facts about me- I can say the alphabet backwards rather fast and my kids think I laugh too much.

My name is Phillip Benoist. I am originally from Houston, Texas, and first came to Colorado through the Army. I was introduced to God when I was young but not in a very consistent way. Growing up I was in and out of many different churches because my family moved around a lot within the city. At 17, I joined the Army and was eventually stationed in South Korea. After spending a year in Korea, I was stationed here in Colorado Springs. I searched and searched for a good church and couldn’t find one that seemed to embody the values I was expecting and looking for. This eventually led to a very long and troubled backsliding period of my life. A little over ten years later I began to come back to God’s way of living, but it was a slow journey back. However, God always finds His lost sheep and although coming back to God forced me to face some really difficult truths, like the prodigal son when I turned back to God, all of the addictions of my former life seemed to not only fall away but were taken from me. Now I enjoy staying in God’s Word and Creation. I enjoy hiking and climbing outside and living an active lifestyle. I’ve always known I would somehow and, in some way, end up in ministry, but for most of my life I have avoided it. You cannot avoid the call of God; it always seems to catch up with you. I ended up coming to Envoy the summer of 2022, and my life was radically transformed. I started reading the Bible, my life started changing and now I am here, maintaining the building and helping our volunteers serve.

Hello, I am Sadrie Overall the Children’s Coordinator! I am from a small town in South East Kansas, with a population of 6,000. I have had a love for Colorado ever since I was a little girl. I never could have guessed God would bless me with the privilege of living here. My passion for serving the Lord and furthering his kingdom has always been my desire but never a priority. I took the leap, summer of 2022, and worked at Camp Como. I discovered the Holy Spirit while working at camp and allowed him to fully consume my life. Through intentional prayer for God to use me, I felt guidance from the Holy Spirit that I should apply for the Children’s Coordinator position at Envoy. I was attending NWOSU with full intent on going to Chiropractic school in August of 2023. A handful of interviews later, I accepted the role with complete confidence that this is where the Lord wants me. Telling my family I was moving to Colorado Springs to pursue a position in ministry was not an easy conversation. I am the only believer in my family and me going into ministry was not accepted. I was faced with difficult decisions and getting here was full of obstacles. Only with God’s helping hands I made it, and I feel so extremely blessed. I am so grateful to be able to say I LOVE my job and I wake up everyday eager to allow the Lord to use me and love your children.
Fun Facts: My favorite animal is a Unicorn, I love Coffee and Plants, and Health and Wellness are large priorities in my life.

Hi! My name is Sean Edwards. I’m originally from California (yes I’m one of those transplants…) where I was born and raised. During my time in California, I attended the University of Redlands for my Bachelor’s in Saxophone Performance. In 2012, I moved out to Colorado for my Master’s in Saxophone Performance and Wind Conducting at the University of Denver. When I came out this way, the Lord was actively working on my heart and changing the trajectory of my life. It was during this time that I ended up at The Rock Church in Castle Rock where God changed my life for the better. I came on staff and began leading worship and preaching the Gospel. It was there that I also met my beautiful wife Kristina and we were married in 2020.
Right after we were married, the Lord began to speak to us about growing his kingdom in a different way and eventually called us away from that church. Ultimately, he brought us here to Envoy where we have been on staff since February of 2021. My wife and I are blessed to have a baby boy, Elliott who was born in July of 2022 and we love getting to serve the local church.
If there is one thing you should know about me is that I love Jesus with all my heart. He has changed and transformed my life in all the best ways. I’m an avid student of the Word of God. I love worship and I love preaching the Word to His people. When I’m not at church, you can probably catch me spending time with my family, gaming with friends or writing music.

Hi! My name is Terri Humphrey and I’m the Executive Director. My family has been attending Envoy Church since October, 1999. My husband, Dwight and I are both natives of Colorado Springs and have raised our daughter and two sons here as well. Our now adult children and their families also attend Envoy Church. We have three grandchildren who are pure joy to us. We’re praying for more.
I graduated from Colorado State University in Ft. Collins with a degree in Business Finance. I worked in the mortgage finance field for many years and then was able to work from home on a part time basis to raise our children, On May 1, 2010, I began working full time for Envoy Church as the Children’s Director. I often tell people it is the best job I’ve ever had. Although I wear many different hats today, I am still able to keep my eye on the Next Gen Ministry, which makes me very happy.
My favorite day of the week is Grammy Day, where I watch (play with) my grandchildren all day long. My husband and I love to support them in all of their activities and sports. In addition our family loves to water ski and we are fortunate enough to have a ski boat. Our favorite vacation is a week on the houseboat at Lake Powell.
